christy smith

Christy Smith is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and started dancing when she was 5 years old. Throughout her years as a dance student, she studied Acro, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theater, and Hip Hop. She was a competitive dancer in Cincinnati, and began attending Dance Etc. as a tumbling student in 2002.

Christy is a graduate from the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music with a BFA, and studied ballet, modern, and theatre during her years in college.

Christy has been teaching at Dance Etc. since 2003, and is versed in most styles of dance. The main styles she teaches are Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, and Acro. She is certified in Ballet and Acro from Dance Masters of America, and holds a National Safety Certification through USA Gymnastics. Christy has received many teacher awards including “Teacher of the Year”, “The Rising Star Award”, and many choreography awards throughout her last 20 years at Dance Etc. Her competition groups and solos/duets consistently place in the top 10 at both regional and national levels.

Christy is a homeschooling mother with 3 kids (2 girls and a boy) - all 3 who are current members of Dance Etc.’s Competition Teams. She is looking forward to sharing her love of dance and tumbling with the students at Dance Etc.
