Jacqui Greene Haas has been the athletic trainer for the Cincinnati Ballet since 1989, is the director of dance medicine academic seminars (www.dancemedicine.net), and is the director of the dance medicine division of Wellington Orthopedics in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she treats dancers in physical therapy, postsurgical rehabilitation, and general conditioning.
A former professional ballet dancer with Boston Ballet, Southern Ballet Theatre, Tampa Ballet, New Orleans Ballet, and Cincinnati Ballet, Jacqui holds a BA in dance from the University of South Florida and an athletic training certificate from the University of Cincinnati. She also has a certificate in Pilates instruction from St. Francis Memorial Hospital dance division in San Francisco and a certificate in Pilates rehabilitation from Polestar Education in Miami, Florida. She has developed injury-prevention programs for numerous dance studios as well as the McGing Irish Dancers, the School for Creative and Performing Arts, and the University of Cincinnati dance department.
Jacqui Haas is once again offering her very informative healthy dancer workshop for dancers ages 11 and up, are at least a Level 4, and have a strong ballet background.
Jacqui's workshops are designed to help the dancer with conditioning exercises to improve strength, turnout, alignment, placement, proper breathing, and prevention of common dance injuries. She will highlight the active muscles associated with each exercise and how it directly applies to dance. Even the professional dancer will learn new things from Jacqui who continues to be a leader in her field of injury prevention for dancers.
Jacqui has been a DE favorite for over a decade; we were able to get her back this year! Her workshop is a “must” for anyone ages 11 and over trying to find their core muscles! She’s one of the most sought-after professionals when it comes to teaching correct technique and injury prevention. I can’t say enough about how valuable these workshops will be to the students so I hope everyone signs up immediately!
In a nutshell - Learn and apply these exercises & techniques before you develop bad habits!
